Mediterranean Voices – Oral History and Cultural Practice in Mediterranean Cities – employed a multi-disciplinary comparative methodology, which yielded unique insights on the sharing of urban space by long-established and mobile populations on northern, eastern and southern shores of the Mediterranean.

Ethnographic fieldwork carried out simultaneously, over an 18-month period, by locally based teams in selected neighbourhoods of 13 cities, was subjected to comparative analysis using a matrix of themes which subsequently formed the architecture of an on-line multi-media database (click on image for more detail).
