SPACES kick off meeting in Vienna
The Med-Voices methodology is spreading out to a new region! Through a fortuitous linkage at the last EuroMed Heritage 4 training workshop, London Metropolitan University were invited in just before the contract was signed with the European Commission, as an 'associate partner' to the SPACES project.
The project SPACES assembles artists and cultural workers in four Eastern partner countries - Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine
who aim at working in the public realm of their city, reflecting societal issues. They represent the upcoming cultural scene of new civil society organisations and stand for contemporary cultural expressions and new forms of contacting audiences.
SPACES aims at strengthening their capacities and at making the bridge between them and the official representatives of culture and art in the post communist space of Eastern Europe.
The planned activities focus on democratisation of culture, culture for all and the importance of culture and art for reform, promotion of tolerance and social cohesion. Activities centre on the use of public space for culture and arts.
This exciting new initiative is being coordinated by Oikodrom - Vienna centre for urban sustainability. There will be a dedicated webpage for the SPACES project very soon, so please check these pages for further news as activities develop.
